Nikka Coffey Grain Japanese Whisky Gift Set, 70 cl
£58.49
A release of grain whisky from Japan's Nikka, produced mainly from corn using one of their continuous Coffey stills. Rather than the rare and limited releases they have done before, this is a larger release to further show off this key component in the Nikka family of whiskies.

Nikka is the brainchild of Masataka Taketsuru who traveled from Japan to Scotland in 1918 to join the ranks at Glasgow University to study whisky making. His love affair with both the country and whisky itself was quick to evolve with such an effect that he also went on to marry a Scot, Jessie Roberta. Returning back to Japan in 1920 with his new wife, Masataka started making whisky for a Japanese distillery to some success for the next decade. But over time he felt that to make the whisky he really wanted to produce he had to strike out on his own and so in 1934.

Whisky Sour Recipe
The Whisky Sour is versatile – whether you decide to switch up the Whisky, sour or sweet element, the end result will almost always be delicious – just remember to stick to that golden ratio of 2 parts Whisky, 1 part sour and 1 part sweet (but hey, if your personal preference is different, you do you!).
