Moonshine
The easiest way to describe moonshine is to explain where it came from. In ‘Ye Olden Days’, moonshine was a blanket term that referred to any high-proof liquor that was produced in secret– the stills were operated under the light of the moon to hide the smoke, and that’s where the name comes from. But worry not – the modern Moonshines in our online shop are fully licensed spirits. The Moonshine label fits because, as you’re about to find out, they all proudly break the strict rules that underpin the production of certain spirits.
For example, all stateside whiskeys must adhere to strict regulations regarding the grain for distillation and the barrels for ageing. Georgia Moon’s spirits are proudly less than thirty days old and distilled from corn, technically making them an ‘unaged corn whiskey’, which sounds a lot less fun than Moonshine, get it? Moonshines are often sold in mason jars and infused with flavours like peach and apple pie, calling back to rural simplicity and nostalgic flavours. Shop our Moonshine collection here and discover a cosy little spirit for yourself. It’ll be our little secret.
