This 3rd release from Macallan's Edition range is a collaboration with Master Perfumer, Roja Dove and the ever brilliant Master Distiller, Bob Dalgarno. Given that Dove's experience is in perfumes we shouldn't be too surprised then to learn that many of the whisky samples chosen in this are led by his reaction to their aromas. The whisky itself has alluring sweet fruit, vanilla and rich fruit cake with suggestions of apricot, pear and crisp green apple. Right at the back of the palate you will find a hint of ginger and cinnamon.

Description
The Macallan Estate is some 360 hectares in size and stunning to boot. The whiskies themselves have long been those of great distinction and full of character. At the heart of their creation is the Estate's own Minstrel Barley and the smallest stills in Speyside. Both go to ensure the house's signature rich, fruity and full flavours are ever present. If you ever come across an old Scottish 10 note, you will spot these very stills which appeared on the back of the note for a number of years.

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe
If there was ever a cocktail to make you feel the glitz and glamour of the history and chic society of New York, it's ordering a Rob Roy. The Rob Roy is a riff on a Manhattan, with their only difference being the base liquor. A Rob Roy is made using blended Scotch while a Manhattan is made with Rye. As such, the cocktail is malty and smooth, with a bit of spice on the finishing end.
