Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch Whisky 12 Year Old Whisky, 70 cl (Special Release) Whisky

Distilled in 2008, this 12-year-old Lagavulin single malt has been matured in refill American oak casks before being bottled as part of Diageo's 2021 Special Releases. Aromas of salty sea air, fragrant smoke-dried tea, cocoa powder, lemon juice and dried seaweed fill the nose, alongside rich wood-smoke from seaside bonfires. The palate offers notes of lemon juice, sea salt, charred logs, oily brine, waves of rich peat smoke and spicy pepper that linger in the finish.

Description

The 2021 collection, drawn from some of Scotland’s most interesting, legendary distilleries and curated by Master Blender Dr Craig Wilson, portrays the otherworldly beings which have fiercely protected the heartlands of remote Scottish distilleries for an eternity, according to our ancient fables, and the mythical creatures come to life revealing their true characters. Drawn from renowned distilleries, the collection nods to the hidden gems that can be found in each corner of the Scottish terrain amongst the lochs and rugged highlands.

Tasting notes

Peppery spice pushes mellowed by a touch of butteriness. Chocolate limes, leather satchels, spiced orange.

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe

If there was ever a cocktail to make you feel the glitz and glamour of the history and chic society of New York, it's ordering a Rob Roy. The Rob Roy is a riff on a Manhattan, with their only difference being the base liquor. A Rob Roy is made using blended Scotch while a Manhattan is made with Rye. As such, the cocktail is malty and smooth, with a bit of spice on the finishing end.
