Description

Wolfgang Otto Blass was in fact born in Germany but ended up creating wine in Australia via a winemaking apprenticeship at home and stints in France (specifically Champagne) and England. The winery itself was launched in 1966 and is to this day one of the most celebrated wineries in Australia with more awards behind them than we have time to mention here. Wolfgang himself is considered to be one of the great pioneers of Australian Wine. In short, you are in very safe hands when drinking Wolf Blass wines!

Tasting notes

Wolf Blass's Yellow Label range of wines has been produced now for over 50 years providing the team with enough knowledge to ensure every vintage is as consistently good as the last. Spice and berried notes are at the front of this full bodied red wine. Shiraz is the perfect partner for grilled meats, game and rich tomato-based pasta dishes.

1870 Sour Cocktail Recipe

The 1870 Sour, also known as the New York Sour ,updates the Whiskey Sour recipe (whiskey, lemon, sugar, egg white) with a float of dry red wine. (Psst, a float is when you suspend the final ingredient on top of the drink!). Everyone loves a good layered cocktail. They are fun to make and look amazing in photos - perfect for Instagram.
