Dalmore 12 Year Old Whisky, 70 cl Whisky 5010196111010

Launched in late 2008 to replace the previous 12 year old, this single malt from the Dalmore distillery is a toasty, coffee-rich dram with beautifully spice notes and a thick mouthfeel. Very rich for a 12 year old. Nose: A warm coffee house in Seattle; roasting beans, the oily nuttiness in a fine espresso, there are little notes of malt and cereal and butter from the pastry counter with rich orange from the fruit bowl on the counter. Palate: Notes of Seville marmalade and triple sec with winter spices and fruitcake. Zesty cocoa and milk chocolate. Finish: Medium, oranges.

Description

Based on The Cromarty Firth thanks to the water and lush soils since the Distillery was created by Alexander Matheson in 1832. Dalmore is both unusual and unconventional in its use of Stills of many different sizes which it claims adds to the complexity of its whiskies. Furthermore those at the distillery have to ignore the harsh North Sea winds instead of enjoying the warmer climate of the nearby Speyside Valley.

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe

If there was ever a cocktail to make you feel the glitz and glamour of the history and chic society of New York, it's ordering a Rob Roy. The Rob Roy is a riff on a Manhattan, with their only difference being the base liquor. A Rob Roy is made using blended Scotch while a Manhattan is made with Rye. As such, the cocktail is malty and smooth, with a bit of spice on the finishing end.
