Whilst it might all be about those millennial pink drinks right now that doesn’t mean we should overlook rose’s orange-hued Italian cousin. Aperol is the drink of summer, with its low-alcohol content, instagrammable colour and refreshing citrus flavour, it’s the perfect all-day sipper.

The Aperol Spritz

If your looking to try Aperol, you can’t go wrong with the classic Aperol spritz. A feel good summer drink.

Ingredients

• 1 part Aperol
• 1 parts prosecco
• Splash of soda
• Orange slices - garnish

Method

• Add ice to a wine glass
• Pour the aperol over the ice
• Top with prosecco
• Add a dash of soda
• Garnish with orange slice

The Aperol Negroni

This milder negroni variation is great for summer sipping. Instead of Campari add Aperol for bright summer flavours and a lovely orange colour.

Ingredients

• 1 part gin
• 1 part vermouth
• 1 part Aperol

Method

• Fill a mixing glass with ice, add the gin, vermouth and Aperol.
• Stir well.
• Strain into an ice-filled glass.

You might think of Aperol as a drink to be mixed but it’s plenty tasty on its own. Give it a try for an orange summer sensation!

Aperol Cosmopolitan  

Aperol is great with its low alcohol content, but sometimes you want a bit more of a kick. This grown-up version of the classic cosmo replaces the cranberry juice with Aperol.

Ingredients

• 2 part Aperol
• 1 part vodka
• Dash lime juice
• Ice

Method

• Place the vodka, Aperol and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with the ice.
• Shake
• Strain into a glass
