The Glenlivet Archive 21 Year Old Malt Whisky, 70 cl Whisky 5000299226216

Multi Award winning and meticulously created, the whisky is aged in a mixture of American oak and ex Sherry casks which produce lovely dried fruit aromas and flavours. There is also a hint of spice in the form of Cinnamon. The palate feels gently and perfectly honeyed.

Description

We are now approaching nearly 200 years of being able to sample this most illustrious of Malts, albeit illegally for the first 2 years of its production back in 1824 when the distillery’s founder, George Smith, first started creating his Malt Whisky. He wasn’t alone making the most of their remoteness in creating illicit whisky then, but he was one of the first in Glenlivet to gain a licence following legislation changes in 1826. If you’re looking for a recommendation, then none other than Charles Dickens was known to be a fan!

Tasting notes

Gently and perfectly honeyed.

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe

If there was ever a cocktail to make you feel the glitz and glamour of the history and chic society of New York, it's ordering a Rob Roy. The Rob Roy is a riff on a Manhattan, with their only difference being the base liquor. A Rob Roy is made using blended Scotch while a Manhattan is made with Rye. As such, the cocktail is malty and smooth, with a bit of spice on the finishing end.
