It may state 60% ABV on the label but there is no way on Earth you would tell that on tasting. Just superb balance and flavour makes this both drinkable and generous in flavour. We tasted this in October 2020 and were hugely impressed. Highly recommended.

Description

In 1865, Glenfarclas distillery, nestled in the heart of Speyside, was purchased by a cattle breeder by the name of John Grant. Today, the Glenfarclas spirit still lives strong and continues in family owner-ship under the direction of 5th and 6th generations, John and George Grant. Glenfarclas means ‘Valley of the Green Grassland’ and the spring water, which ensures the verdant green grass, is essential to the distinct flavour of Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Whisky. It bubbles up, crystal clear, from the underlying granite on the slopes of the Speyside mountain, Ben Rinnes, to supply the distillery below. There, it is combined with the finest malted barley, twice distilled in traditional, direct fired, copper pot stills and only the lightest and best fractions of alcohol are collected, two thirds to be filled into the finest Spanish Sherry oak casks and one third into plain oak casks in which to lie maturing over many years.

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe

If there was ever a cocktail to make you feel the glitz and glamour of the history and chic society of New York, it's ordering a Rob Roy. The Rob Roy is a riff on a Manhattan, with their only difference being the base liquor. A Rob Roy is made using blended Scotch while a Manhattan is made with Rye. As such, the cocktail is malty and smooth, with a bit of spice on the finishing end.
