In 1825 Hugh MacAskill of Eigg acquired Talisker House and the North end of the Minginish Peninsula on the rugged, beautiful Isle of Skye. Five years later he and his brother had built what was to become on of the World's most popular distilleries on the shore of Loch Harport. In fact, by as early as 1898, Talisker was one of the best selling Malt Whiskies in the UK.

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe
If there was ever a cocktail to make you feel the glitz and glamour of the history and chic society of New York, it's ordering a Rob Roy. The Rob Roy is a riff on a Manhattan, with their only difference being the base liquor. A Rob Roy is made using blended Scotch while a Manhattan is made with Rye. As such, the cocktail is malty and smooth, with a bit of spice on the finishing end.
