Glenfiddich Solera 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70 cl Whisky 5010327325125

A 15 year old matured in American bourbon, Portuguese sherry and virgin oak. The whisky was then married in a Solera vat. This is a great staple 15 year old from the Glenfiddich distillery. Nose: Sherry, citrus - orange in particular, dry wood. Slight suggestion of smoke? Palate: Medium, sherry, raisins. Fruitcake, spices, sweetness. Finish: Candied fruits, raisins, spices, Christmas pudding, oak takes over.

Description

It takes some determination to build a distillery by hand, but that is precisely what William Grant and his 9 (yes, 9) children did back in 1886. After twelve months of what must have been hard labour the distillery was ready and named Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer, which started production on Christmas Day 1887 Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is now one of the World's Most Awarded Single Malt* Scotch Whisky Distilleries. Something tells me that Mr Grant would be very proud!

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe

If there was ever a cocktail to make you feel the glitz and glamour of the history and chic society of New York, it's ordering a Rob Roy. The Rob Roy is a riff on a Manhattan, with their only difference being the base liquor. A Rob Roy is made using blended Scotch while a Manhattan is made with Rye. As such, the cocktail is malty and smooth, with a bit of spice on the finishing end.
