Errazuriz Max Reserve Syrah 2012, 75 cl
£14.50
Purplish ruby-red in colour, with a seductive nose that offers black fruit such as blueberries and blackberries along with a subtle floral touch that recalls lavender, all framed by sweet spices such as cloves and nutmeg from the oak. A light balsamic touch increases complexity. Fine tannins lend a velvety mouthfeel, while fresh acidity adds a fruity firmness. The flavours confirm that this is a nicely ripe and tremendously friendly wine that will continue to gain complexity over time, while its bright acidity predicts excellent longevity in the bottle.

Description
The Errazuriz Estate was founded in 1870 when Don Maximiano Errazuriz planted his first vineyards at Panquehue in the Aconcagua Valley - 100km North of the capital. The family tradition lives on with Don Maximiano's descendant Eduardo Chadwick. Eduardo is the sixth generation of his family. The valley, with its cool, rainy winters, hot, dry summers and moist Pacific Ocean breezes, is ideal for growing grapes.

1870 Sour Cocktail Recipe
The 1870 Sour, also known as the New York Sour ,updates the Whiskey Sour recipe (whiskey, lemon, sugar, egg white) with a float of dry red wine. (Psst, a float is when you suspend the final ingredient on top of the drink!). Everyone loves a good layered cocktail. They are fun to make and look amazing in photos - perfect for Instagram.
