The Macallan Rare Cask Batch No.1 introduced a new look for Rare Cask. It is designed to give greater insight into Macallan’s whisky making process. Highly limited, each release batch represents the volume of only 50 oak sherry butts. Whether you are collecting or looking for a treat this will not let you down. You’ll find this more citrussy than the later Batch 2 release and perhaps a slightly lighter expression.

Description
The Macallan Estate is some 360 hectares in size and stunning to boot. The whiskies themselves have long been those of great distinction and full of character. At the heart of their creation is the Estate's own Minstrel Barley and the smallest stills in Speyside. Both go to ensure the house's signature rich, fruity and full flavours are ever present. If you ever come across an old Scottish 10 note, you will spot these very stills which appeared on the back of the note for a number of years.

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe
If there was ever a cocktail to make you feel the glitz and glamour of the history and chic society of New York, it's ordering a Rob Roy. The Rob Roy is a riff on a Manhattan, with their only difference being the base liquor. A Rob Roy is made using blended Scotch while a Manhattan is made with Rye. As such, the cocktail is malty and smooth, with a bit of spice on the finishing end.
