Cheval des Andes 2015, 75 cl Red Wine 7790975018492

Silky and mature tannins combine with elegant notes of smoke and tobacco. Unctuous, juicy, with a long and persistent finish. A wine that perfectly combines its young vivacity with the elegance of a mature structure.

Description

The Grand Cru of the Andes that combines the art of assemblage of Cheval Blanc with the altitude winemaking expertise of Terrazas. Simply fantastic. Water for the vines comes purely from the snow melt off the Andes under which their plots lie. Crucially they are they are the highest vineyards in their particular area and so get the purest melt and freshest water. The first commercial release from Cheval des Andes was only in 1999 but it has already gained a superb reputation. Put this on your table with friends and they would do well to guess where this comes from.

1870 Sour Cocktail Recipe

The 1870 Sour, also known as the New York Sour ,updates the Whiskey Sour recipe (whiskey, lemon, sugar, egg white) with a float of dry red wine. (Psst, a float is when you suspend the final ingredient on top of the drink!). Everyone loves a good layered cocktail. They are fun to make and look amazing in photos - perfect for Instagram.
