London is not only one of the best drinking cities in the world, it’s also our home. It’s where our we developed our love for drinks and where our obsession for finding our favourite bottle was born so it’s only right we kick off this monthly series of blogs in the place closest to our hearts… The Bottle Club presents to you The Best Bars In London!!
WM Barker & Co. – Liverpool Street
If you appreciate attention to detail and cocktails with craftmanship then you’ll love WM Barker & Co. This Liverpool Street based underground bar is known for it’s sweet cocktails named after the locations that inspired them and unlike many of the less characterful bars in Liverpool Street WM Barker & Co has managed to become the perfect injection of life into a notoriously “hard-working” part of the city!
The Connaught – Mayfair
So you’re looking for a place that oozes class? Look no further. Such is the opulence of the marble laden art deco interior destination you could be forgiven for thinking you’d accidentally stepped into a scene from The Great Gatsby. When you go be sure to ask for the Connaught Martinis and prepare to have your world rocked! Be warned though, it’s a little pricey and you won’t be able to go back to regular Martini’s so proceed with caution.
Callooh Callay – Shoreditch
Does the thought of being immersed into a cocktail laden, Alice In Wonderland style world sound like the best thing in the world to you? Us too, and apparently we’re not alone because even if you’re on the further most fringe of London’s cocktail scene then the chances are that you’ve been told to get down to Callooh Callay at your earliest convenience. With secret compartments and walkthrough wardrobes the décor alone makes Callooh Callay an unbelievable experience but the ever evolving drink menu truly tips it over the edge. You’ve heard the phrase “jack of all trades master of none”, well Callooh Callay has something for everyone without compromising on quality or flavour. Grab all your fussy friends and blow their minds!
Nightjar – Old Street
When you combine amazing drinks with such a glamorously old school feel have a winner and that’s exactly what Nightjar is. True to Speakeasy’s intentionally weird pop-up style location Nightjar is situated in Old Street between two cafes but if you can get past the geography what awaits you is nothing short of magic. Live music and innovative cocktails we can’t speak highly enough of this place. The truth is, whatever list you subscribe to It’s not a respectable list if Nightjar doesn’t feature!
Dandelyan – Southbank
So you’ve drunk your way through 90% of the cocktail menu at your usual watering hole (not at once) only to find yourself with a bad case of cocktail fatigue… Well you’re in luck because Dandelyan is the antidote! Serving cocktails inspired by modern botany and created by multi award winning bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana aka Mr. Lyan, this riverside bar will expose you to new flavours that walk the fine line between science and art expertly!
