Kalimotxo Cocktail Recipe

The calimocho or kalimotxo is a drink consisting of equal parts red wine and cola-based soft drink. The concoction dates back to the 1920s in Spain, but was relatively uncommon as Coca-Cola was not manufactured in the country at that time. This simple drink is wildly popular in the Basque Country.

Ingredients

• 3 ounces Rioja wine
• 3 ounces Coca-Cola
• 1 squeeze lemon
• Garnish: lemon slice

Method

1. Add all the ingredients into a wine glass or rocks glass with ice.
